As ColorLines' Jamilah King notes, this troubling history has frequently centered on explosive immigration issues, from Sheriff Joe Arpaio's lawlessness to murders committed by Arizona Minutemen.
Especially is this so when the attack is made long after the time when the certificate of citizenship was granted and the citizen has meanwhile met his obligations and has committed no act of lawlessness.
"What I'm certain about is that he did not make a firm commitment yesterday," Sessions told CBS. "But he is absolutely committed to the first thing that has to be done, and that's end the lawlessness to protect Americans from danger.
Tony Perkins, of the Family Research Council, called the new policy an example of "lawlessness," as if it would be law-loving for the federal government to seek out ways to dodge the Supreme Court's injunctions, to leave in place shortcuts around people's basic rights, or to make committed families live in gray areas.

In setting up a private e-mail server while she was Secretary of State, she had committed "terrible, terrible crimes," and, in seeking to deal with the country's estimated eleven million undocumented workers, whom he says he would deport en masse, she was "proposing mass amnesty, mass immigration, and mass lawlessness".
