The latter sale celebrates all things brumal, especially sports, and includes a group of posters from the nineteen-thirties, forties, and fifties related to Dartmouth's rambunctious Winter Carnival.
Chinese paintings and Southeast Asian objects go under the gavel the same day; one of the finer pieces in the latter sale is a graceful bronze figure of Pavarti from the twelfth century.
One of the more intriguing lots in the latter sale is a piece resembling origami, by the Brazilian sculptor Lygia Clark; entitled "Bicho" ("Bug"), the whimsical contraption can be configured in various ways by manipulating its hinged surfaces.
The latter sale features works by many of the heavy hitters of pre-nineteenth-century art, including Bernardo Bellotto, Lucas Cranach the Elder, and Donatello, whose "San Felice Madonna," a painted terra-cotta relief executed with characteristic grace, is one of the highlights.

The latter sale is particularly rich in Roman and Greek pieces, including an elegant marble portrait of the young Roman general Germanicus, father of Caligula; it is from the collection of Thomas Bruce, seventh Earl of Elgin and eleventh Earl of Kincardine, he of the Elgin Marbles.

And apparently there is a need for the latter -- sales of Bud Light and Miller Lite have declined for three straight years as Coors Light has shown modest growth.
The latter's sales are so far relatively small since publication in February, but there are hopes in the trade that it could duplicate the success of A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian, which won few awards but has so far sold 757,000 copies.
