Despite the ability of recombinant MVA to induce potent humoral and cellular immune responses against transgenic antigen in humans, especially when used as the latter element of a heterologous prime-boost regimen, doubts are occasionally expressed about the ultimate feasibility of this approach.
In some glasses containing small amounts of cerium oxide and ions of copper, silver, or gold, exposure to ultraviolet radiation causes the oxidation of cerium and the reduction of the latter elements to the metallic state.
This latter element expresses the kinetics of the re-structuring of the interfacial region.
