How to design effective error-control methods, for models with a large steepness parameter β, is, as far as the authors know, still an open problem.

It is of a plunging type at large wave steepness while of a spilling type at small wave steepness.
As can be seen, larger wave steepness will generally cause smaller air gap in the same wave period, which indicates nonlinear effects of incoming wave can amplify wave elevation.
These slopes can be converted, according to a simple Debye Hückel formalism, into apparent overall charges of the enzyme, which give, as expected based on the differential steepness, a larger value for Stp1 than for R166S AP (Table 2).
The cases of highest robustness for each of the 14 models and all steepness values show large variation among the models (Fig. 5).
The effect becomes less prominent as steepnesses approach Michaelis-Menten conditions.
A total of nine wave designs have been simulated in three categories each of steepness (low, moderate and large) and relative depth (near-shallow, intermediate and deep).
The return quotient (RQ) affects the steepness of the source spectrum, a large RQ corresponds to greater attenuation of the higher frequencies.
In Fig. 5 we have plotted the error-amplification ratio (E(T beta)), see (5), as a function of (beta=1,2,ldots,200). Clearly, in this case (E(T beta)) is unacceptably large, even for rather moderate values of the steepness parameter.
(3.2) Since (p-1>1), relationships of the gradient modulus of an element from (3.2) indicate that (u^) becomes steep if (w_{0}) is gentle, and, conversely, (u^) has small steepness if the gradient of (w_{0}) is large.
They are characterised by large differences in hydroperiod (HP), size, shape and edge steepness.
