While no inclusions of any kind were observed in wild-type and human HSJ1a transgenic mice, R6/2 mice contained large numbers of both cytoplasmic and nuclear inclusions throughout the cortex, which increased in incidence and size between 9- and 15 weeks of age (Fig. 3A and B).
No presence of the drug aggregates of any kind was observed on the surfaces of these fibers, suggesting that the drugs were encapsulated well within the fibers.
