The murine osteosarcoma cell line POS-1, derived from osteosarcoma which spontaneously developed in C3H/HeN mice was kindly provided from Kanagawa Cancer Center (Kanagawa, Japan [14]).
As the parent strain, we employed ER (kindly provided by Le Saffre), which has been developed for industrial ethanol production.
