The liver-blue module (c = 0.77) also has a high between-mouse correlation (r b ≥ 0.64) and significant gene overlap with these adipose, heart and kidney modules including Fkbp5 and Per1.
Gusb has significant between-mouse variation that is correlated with the kidney-green module eigengene (r b = 0.73).
The chest pain, fever, abdominal pain, shock, syncope, jaundice, dizziness, anemia, and acute kidney injury modules achieved statistical significance.
Other androgen-responsive genes in the kidney-green module include Cyp4a14, Slco1a1, Nudt19, Prlr, Angptl7, Hsd17b11, and Tmco3 [Additional files 2, 14: Supplemental Figure S10].
These genes were found to be variable between mice and cluster together in the kidney-green module (c = 0.59), which is enriched for the KEGG androgen and estrogen metabolism pathway.

We found several other functionally related co-modules, for instance a co-module containing kidney and liver, a co-module related to the immune system (including lymph node and thymus), a female reproductive system co-module (ovary and uterus), or a respiratory system co-module (lung and trachea).
