The task of justification concerns the question of whether people ought to comply morally speaking or all things considered with law's demands.
Arthur Spiegel Miami, June 3, 2010 To the Editor: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's justifications aside, the question the United States has to ask itself is why his administration appears incapable of reacting to current events without creating a fierce diplomatic imbroglio and whether or not this means that his government should be viewed as a partner in the peace process or as an obstacle.
A number of related questions have been discussed under the general title of 'the justification of desert claims.' Some apparently take the question about justification to be a question about epistemic justification (see, for example, McLeod 1995, 89).
But that first justification, being instrumental, raises the question of whether certain forms of political communication are in fact likely to contribute to a vibrant sphere of public political debate.
(See also Kelly [2004].) With respect to the justification question, arguments have been made in both directions.
