He found walls collapsing, structures rotting away, joints widening, tears developing in hull plates and rusticles growing vibrantly.
US can be used to assess joint cavity widening (differentiation between joint effusion and synovial proliferation; Fig. 1a, b), erosions, and the hyperemia which may give indirect information about the activity of the disease.
