The Feelies The torchbearers for a jittery, rhythm-guitar-driven rock-and-roll that grew out of the sound of the Velvet Underground, the Feelies became part of Maxwell's inner circle in the early eighties, both as themselves and in various guises, spinoffs, and reconfigurations: as the Willies (whom you may remember from Jonathan Demme's "Something Wild"), the Trypes, and Yung Wu.
