The second signal (semi-deterministic) was created by adding white noise to the chaotic signal using the Jitter function in Matlab, which multiplies all data points by the smallest distance between any two points in the time series (scaling factor µ). Using a µ = 5000 units, the chaotic signal was transformed into a semi-deterministic signal (DFA α = 1.02).
