The development of an LTP should involve five phases, all including public consultation: i) preparatory study, ii) definition of the local goals of the LTP, iii) detailed diagnostic, iv) intervention plan, and v) drawing up of the LTP.
Methods In this open label, phase IV intervention study, 779 young people (2-18 years) with egg allergy were recruited from 30 UK allergy centres and immunised with LAIV.
Our review addressed the following issues in the RCTs: (i) power calculations; (ii) pre-study training, inclusion criteria, randomization and recruitment pace; (iii) intrapartum management protocols; (iv) intrapartum interventions; (v) cord blood and early neonatal metabolic acidosis; (vi) neonatal outcomes.
Phase IV includes intervention in physicians' practice patterns.
Study participants' vaccination status (as determined by the primary phase IV trial intervention), physical location (i.e. study site), and socio-demographic characteristics were also recorded.
Patients were categorized into 4 groups: group I, SVG intervention and patent IMA; group II, no SVG intervention and patent IMA; group III, SVG intervention without patent IMA; and group IV, no SVG intervention without patent IMA.
Data were extracted using a proforma specifically designed to record key information related to (i) study design (ii) population characteristics (iii) characteristics of the intervention including: type of intervention; mode, location and delivery of interventions; (iv) type of intervention provider (v) duration, intensity and frequency of the intervention.
The overall programme target is to achieve a 5% reduction in stunting and one-third reduction in anaemia among pregnant women and children through work under four pillars: (i) upstream policy development; (ii) capacity development; (iii) nutrition information systems; and (iv) direct nutrition interventions.
Fifteen questions were formulated in relation, among others, to: (i) current and future injury prevention behaviour; (ii) needs and support for the intervention; (iii) characteristics (content, form) of the intervention; and (iv) strategies to deliver the intervention.
Complications were graded according to the Clavien Dindo classification system as follows: I, minor complications not requiring medical or surgical intervention; II, complications requiring pharmacological treatment or blood transfusion; III, complications requiring re-intervention; IV, life-threatening complications, and V, death [27].
