Finally, the resultant optimal cladograms were submitted to a final round of TBR under exact three-dimensional direct optimization (iterative pass optimization; [ 82]), a more efficient, but substantially more computationally intensive method.

BioXSD has been developed in an iterative fashion, passing through a number of refactorings.
The approach is typically done in an iterative manner, repeatedly passing through the data sets to produce an optimized set of rules that account for the greatest amount of variability in the training data and, by so doing, produce the smallest error in the satellite-derived estimates of AGB.

Belief propagation is an iterative message passing algorithm on general graphs and has been widely used to solve many graph inference problem [3], such as social network analysis [1], fraud detection [4], and computer vision [5].
Based on factor graphs, a variant of the sum-product algorithm [5], namely the min-sum algorithm [12], can then be applied in order for all nodes, through iterative message passing with their respective neighbor nodes, to decide upon the best set of local parameters that can collectively maximize a global performance metric across the network.
