16 17 The findings from the 2012 CONSORT systematic review show that, for some CONSORT checklist items, trials published in journals that endorse CONSORT were more completely reported than were trials published before the time of endorsement or in non-endorsing journals.
We converted the STRICTA guidelines into a reporting quality assessment checklist involving 30 items for trials incorporating an acupuncture control group, and 21 items for trials in which the comparator did not involve acupuncture.
