The child self-evaluation version used in this study has 20 descriptive items of social skills.
In the population evaluated by the instrument, differences were reported in specific items of social skills, but not in factors.
Students and experts proposed broad themes within child health relating to items of knowledge, skills and attitudes [ n = 33] within categories of 'History taking'Examination'on', 'Investigations', and 'Management'.
This item of clinical skills acquires great importance in medical education, as it embraces the essence of professionalism in the clinical practice and patient management, and gives credit to the current curriculum.
There is a total score of 27 points for nine items of community-living skills.
The third set of skills items, relating to the application of knowledge were observed to have psychometric properties somewhat intermediate between those of the professionalism and anatomy items.
These low-rated items encompass a range of skills – clinical procedures, communication skills and prescribing – indicating it is not a particular class of skills or knowledge that is felt to be lacking, but specifics within all areas.> -wrap-foot> *NB.

Students also responded very positively to items in Factor 12 acquiring of skills, as 64.3 % of students indicated they are adept and proficient at using computers (item 37).
In further research, cognitive diagnostic models can be used to investigate the relatedness of the items to the skills.
We construed a subscale for each of the proposed four sub dimensions of institutionalization; see Additional file 1. Institutionalization of Skills (8 items): this subscale centers on cultivating and evaluating required skills.
