One item, intention to smoke, that was not collected in the NDIT could potentially contribute extra information in assessing the risk of initiation of daily smoking.
The one-factor CFA conducted on the four intention variables did not reveal good fit to the model due to one low-loading item ("Intention to pursue a research career, not as a PI," loaded at −0.09), χ(2) = 44.31, p < 0.001; CFI = 0.88, TLI = 0.64, SRMR = 0.08.
