The Torrance-based computer retailer said it expects to report its first loss in more than a year and a half.
The women's fashion and home-furnishings chain, still trying to shed its cosy-country image, said it expects to report a first-half loss of some £4.5m ($7.4m), including a £1m charge to close two factories in Wales.
Whirlpools shares declined in the first half of the trading session even though the appliance manufacturer raised its profit forecast and said it expects to report record earnings this year.
Just a few days after reaffirming its first-quarter outlook, General Electric said it expects to report earnings of 32 cents per share, at the high end of its previously stated range.
Snap noted in its filing on Tuesday, however, that it expects to report fourth-quarter revenue and adjusted earnings in February that are "slightly favorable to the top-end" of its previously reported quarterly guidance ranges.
But the company has said it expects to report 150,000 fewer members in its large-employer commercial business for the first quarter -- not counting members acquired through the acquisitions of other insurers.
The First Executive Corporation said last week it expects to report a charge of about $515 million against its fourth-quarter earnings, partly because of its holdings in the Campeau Corporation, which sought bankruptcy protection last week.
That is up from the $1.57 it expects to report for the just-ended year.
It expects to report a profit of $60 million to $65 million for the full year.
It expects to report record sales for 2009 of 136 trillion won when it releases its earnings on January 29th.
