Dr. Cole noted that in terms of percentages, New Jersey ranked 45th of the 50 states as far as the number of undergraduate and graduate students it can educate at its public colleges and universities -- about 140,000 places in a state of more than 8.5 million people.
In addition, as an educator for most of his life, Mr. Jabber emphasized that we need to change many things in our education system, so that it can educate young people for coexistence in more significant ways.
The federal special education law allows parents to challenge a school district's ruling that it can educate a child adequately.
