Close-proximity priorities generally evolve around issues of convenience, such as, designing administrative space, training space, and diagnostic laboratory space close together; animal housing rooms and cage sanitation as close as practical; bedding storage close to the clean side of the cage sanitation area; and large animal housing and surgery areas as close to one another as practical.
Of course, price is seldom the sole factor in buying anything and that's particularly true in the medical area, where issues of convenience (fairly easy to determine) and quality (more important, but still only sometimes possible) must also be on the scale.
Given these barriers, to maximise the recruitment of this demographic into RCTs and lifestyle interventions, issues of convenience, relevance and carer-responsibilities must be addressed.
