The word 'ism' is correct and usable in written English.
It is often used as a suffix to create nouns that refer to a belief, practice, or characteristic. Example 1: Feminism is a belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. Example 2: Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership and free market competition. Example 3: Ageism is the discrimination against people based on their age. Example 4: Nationalism is a strong belief in one's own country and culture. Example 5: Veganism is a practice of abstaining from consuming animal products.
