The phrase "irregular diet" is correct and usable in written English
It can be used to describe a dietary habit which involves eating meals at irregular times or which consists of unusual food combinations. For example: "He maintained an unhealthy irregular diet, sometimes eating pizza for breakfast and skipping lunch entirely."
