However, the first course to be set up under the scheme – at London University's prestigious Institute of Education (IoE) – is in danger of having places on the new course unfilled when it starts in September.
One educational psychologist who took part in the study, which was carried out by the University College London Institute of Education (IoE) and the British Psychological Society, wrote: "Our biggest difficulty is that children's and adolescent mental health services and paediatric teams are so short-staffed they go straight to medication and completely ignore Nice guidance".
The new resource, developed to fit national curriculum requirements in conjunction with Copthall school in north London, where both sisters studied, and the Institute of Education (IoE) at University College London, examines the events of 7/7 and their consequences for police, doctors and witnesses as well as victims and their families.
In fact, their maths results have been improving rather faster than those of their peers in other countries, according to Dr John Jerrim of the IoE.
The IoE course must be completed within four years (with part-time study) and sets down strict deadlines for all work with assignments due as often as every week.
"Free schools have emerged most strongly in neighbourhoods with high proportions of non-white children, compared with the national average, and that within those neighbourhoods they have admitted even higher proportions of non-whites," the report's authors, led by Prof Francis Green of the Institute for Education (IoE), said.
