Three experiments examined the involvement of orthography in spoken word processing using a task – unimodal auditory priming with offset overlap – taken to reflect activation of prelexical representations.
However, the lack of interaction between task and category, [F 2, 26)<1, n.s.] did not support any obvious conclusion regarding a specific involvement of left M1 in word processing.
