Consequently, the involvement of cluster 3 structures was found to be a prognostic factor on multivariate Cox regression analysis [HR = 2.444, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.203 4.965, P = 0.013].
The present data confirmed our previous findings, suggesting that (i) the skelemin/integrin interactions are not very stable, which is an important feature allowing dynamic regulation of cell spreading process, and (ii) multiple interactions might be required to mediate physiologically significant responses favoring the involvement of integrin clustering.
