In Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu, and villages outside the sprawling cities, reporters made a point of cultivating diverse interviewees: university students, migrant workers, street vendors, aunties idling on the corner stoop, and even one hapless tai-chi-practicing foreigner were all met with the mike.
Interviewees included students who had taken additional research activities such as voluntary vacation activities and higher research degrees, so their views may differ from other students by having an established desire to do research.
Table 2 presents the topics choices of each pair as well as the position and language background of the interviewees chosen by students.
In contrast, other interviewees, such as students and users who were perhaps the least empowered of the groups interviewed, may have perceived her as an outsider.
After they have completed an interview, students switch roles from interviewer to interviewee, so that by the end of class, all students have interviewed and have been interviewed.
For example during drafting the interviewee invitation email, many students mentioned how concerned they were to avoid errors, as the email would be sent to a real recipient who they did not know.

Among them, there are both experienced or professional speakers (politicians, professors, professional translators, radio interviewees) and inexperienced speakers (students) [38].
Interviewees named tables for students (N = 7) and whiteboards (N = 5) as a helpful room feature, because they help students to interact with one another.
