Patients attending the University of Toronto lupus clinic are routinely seen at 2- to 6-monthly intervals wherein clinical and laboratory data, including TC, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) levels are obtained and recorded according to a set protocol.
It is coupled with the random-interval moment method, wherein the reliability is predicted by regarding uncertainties in material properties, loads and fracture toughness as random variables, and uncertainties in the crack geometry as interval variables.
Model parameters were exponentiated to incidence rate ratios (IRRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI), wherein an IRR above 1 indicates a positive association and below 1 a negative association between the dependent and independent variables.
This is not possible for contemporary solutions wherein the intervals are ordered, making update of intervals complex.
