In the 70 s time interval of Figure 5b, variations in the signal phase received across the array become more clearly visible at about 03 44:12 UT, simultaneous with one interval of amplitude scintillation but not the other.
The time intervals of Figure 4a,b,c,d,e correspond to those shown in Figure 3a,b.
For each experiment, intensity signals of the ca. 200 empty spots were measured and the 95% upper confidence interval of these figures was used as the lower limit for significant measurements.
