For the two intersections, the behavior of 1362 (total) pedestrians was observed: 655 pedestrians at intersection A and 707 pedestrians at intersection B. Demographic characteristics were significantly different between the two intersections with respect to the race of pedestrians and the use of assistive devices (e.g., canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
These zones were determined by drawing the clusters of points of intersections (Fig. 5B) in a contour plot where the blue color represents the lowest and the red color the highest frequency of intersections with respect to the time-temperature plane (Fig. 5B').
