The resistivity of this formation water is an important interpretation parameter since it is required for the calculation of saturations (water and/or hydrocarbon) from the basic resistivity logs.
For greater ease of interpretation, parameter estimates for peroneal nerve distal motor latency and short F-wave latency, sway speed, and vibrotactile threshold were multiplied by –1 so that lower scores indicated poorer performance for all continuous outcomes.
The latent variable model may be considered as a step further for a more mechanistic interpretation, with parameters such as Emax that can be interpreted directly.
Moreover, the usage of relative metrics does not provide an intuitive interpretation of parameters.
Once values were transformed to facilitate their interpretation, item parameters were evaluated.
