After a participant had completed the first missing letter, he/she was asked to answer a comprehension question for which the correct answer ('Yes' or 'No') was based on the intended emotional interpretation of the training scenario.
Further, interpretation of results requires training on understanding and quantifying outcomes (e.g., 0 3+ values in HER2 IHC reporting) [ 5].
Nevertheless, interpretation of changes with training during pubertal development needs care as adolescents experience marked changes in body size, composition, and physique, especially those that mature in advance of their peers [ 31].
Additionally, it is important in terms of clinical utility for future studies to demonstrate an influence of interpretation training effects on emotional vulnerability, across a wide range of measures including physiological and behavioural (such as a social challenge task) in addition to the more common self-report measures.
Conclusions: These results not only forward our understanding of the mechanism of the genesis of cognitive bias in children, but also highlight the need for further investigation of how to optimize the effectiveness of interpretation training in children.
After this stage of interpretation training, children were presented with a series of ambiguous vignettes for which they had to rate perceived levels of threat as an index of interpretation bias.
