The power of the noise filtering formalism lies in the simple interpretation of the filter-transfer functions (F_{i} omega)), which may be characterized in a standard engineering approach, considering passbands, stopbands, and filter order [42, 48, 49, 60].
Furthermore, of the physical interpretation of the optimal spatial filter, this decomposition can also be used to estimate the optimal spatial filter in two steps: a step devoted to the optimum combiner without taking into account the additive noise wz,k and the other to the maximum ratio combiner wh,k.
Given that the stringency of the filter hybridizations was variable, that interpretation of positive filter spots was not always straightforward, and that the quality of BAC end-sequencing was not always consistent, we proceeded to confirm each clone we identified.
