It just orbited the WINDS, or Wideband Internetworking Engineering test and Development Satellite.
In 2007, the Japanese organization JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and NICT National Institute of Information and Communications Technologygy) launched an experimental satellite called WINDS (Wideband Internetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite).

Specific networking topics that will be covered include: LAN/WAN technologies, congestion/flow control, traffic analysis, routing, internetworking, multicast, security, and quality of service.
Two of the more obvious technologies and applications include intra- hospital tracking and internetworking.
As for Xerox's role, Cerf says that Ethernet was an admirable technology that helped linked computers together, but "the internetworking method did not scale particularly well".
