In addition to the reciprocal transplants, a common garden experiment was set up at Moscow, Idaho (780-m elevation), which, climatically, represented an intermediate locality (Appendix S1).
Similarly, while C. orinocensis had two nearly exclusive clades, these were found together in one geographically intermediate locality (Additional file 5: Figure S2c), and there was no congruence with the transitions between mtDNA clades and microsatellite clusters geographically.
