In August, Texaco named Red Sky to handle interactive consulting; a wholly owned Omnicom agency, BBDO New York, part of BBDO Worldwide, creates corporate campaigns for Texaco.
For instance, Zentropy Partners, an interactive consulting business that Interpublic had hoped would compete with publicly traded firms like Razorfish, has now become part of another Interpublic agency rather than remaining autonomous.
"This is just going to keep happening every day," said Richard Cellini, vice president of Integrity Interactive, a consulting firm in Waltham, Mass.
Other offerings -- like direct marketing, interactive advertising, consulting, corporate identity, public relations, sales promotion and sports marketing -- were played down as the province of smaller, specialty shops.
Among younger subscribers, the online dating world is often "just another form of entertainment," said Jenya Kimlat, 22, of Orlando, Fla., who works for an interactive media consulting firm.
"Wall Street disproportionately focuses on short-term results compared to other industries," said Richard Cellini, a senior vice president at Integrity Interactive, a consulting firm in Waltham, Mass.
The bride is the stepdaughter of Henry B. Satterthwaite, the president and chief executive of Snickelways Interactive, a consulting firm in New York that specializes in business-to-business sales on the Internet.
"In terms of establishing global standards in the area of bribery and corruption, more progress has probably been made in the last 18 months than in the previous two decades," said Richard Cellini, vice president of Integrity Interactive, a consulting firm in Waltham, Mass., that specializes in reducing ethics and compliance risk.
And Grey Ventures in New York, the venture capital arm of Grey Advertising, made what was described as a "major strategic investment" in Elemental Interactive, an Internet communications consulting company with offices in Atlanta, New York and San Francisco.
U.S. Interactive Inc., an Internet consulting firm founded by Vice President Al Gore's technology adviser, agreed to buy SoftPlus Inc. for about $372 million in stock, cash and new debt.
The bridegroom, 36, is a consultant in New York at the Sachs Communications Group, a research and consulting company on interactive technology.
