The phrase "intensive improvement" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in a variety of contexts, but it generally refers to a focused and extensive effort to make something better or more efficient. Here are two examples: 1. "The company's profits were declining, so they implemented an intensive improvement program to increase efficiency and reduce costs." 2. "After years of struggling, the school finally saw a significant increase in student achievement thanks to the implementation of an intensive improvement curriculum."
