The light source and the intensity of shadow region and non-shadow region are listed in Table 1.

The 12 features chosen are: maximum intensity, mean intensity, median intensity, solidity and area of bright spot, mean intensity, intensity variance, percentage of dark area and mean of dark area of shadow region; difference between maximum intensity of bright spot and maximum intensity of shadow, slope of intensity profile, percentage of dark pixels along slope.
In Figure 27, we demonstrated the processed results for different kinds of shadows such as the smaller-scale shadows (shown in Figure 27(a)), the low contrast between intensities of shadows and backgrounds (shown in Figure 27(c)), and both the smaller-scale and lowly contrastive shadows (shown in Figure 27 e)).
In Figure 26, we could see that the proposed algorithm indeed successfully detected the real objects and neutralized the negative influences by shadows, since the intensity of shadowed regions was low enough to be distinguished from that of backgrounds.
The tonal range and colour balance of the images are optimised to sharpen the contrast of the fibres and cells against the background, using the levels histogram in photoshop to adjust intensity levels of shadows, midtones, and highlights.
However, some "candidate struts" were due to reflections from residual blood in front of a real strut, where the real strut behind it will give a large value for the maximum intensity of the shadow region.
Colour space-based methods [19] such as HSI, HSV, YIQ and YCbCr analyse the intensity and colour properties of shadows in aerial images and calculate a hue to intensity ratio for each pixel.
Tsai [11] analyzed the intensity and color properties of shadows in color aerial images, based on color space such as HSI, HSV, YCbCr, HCV, and YIQ, and brought forward a method by calculating the ratio of hue over the intensity for each pixel to build a ratio map.
Eye makeup: Try to use powder eyeshadow, natural shadows, which are often loose, go on smoothly and look as pretty as regular versions, if you start with a little color you can build up the intensity of the eye shadow.
