Senator Tom Coburn, a Republican obstetrician from Oklahoma, introduced an amendment to insure that veterans diagnosed with mental illness would not be denied the right to own firearms, and another to prevent "convicted child molesters, rapists, and sex offenders" from buying erectile-dysfunction drugs with taxpayer funds.
Fortunately, I am eligible for the V.A. since I spent two years in the Army, but I'd be happy to pay a reasonable deductible for good quality health care -- and to insure that other veterans don't have to wait three years to see a doctor.
