EMG screw testing has been shown to be sensitive and reliable in open spinal instrumentation cases.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the robustness and stability of the mfERG as it is recorded over both time and with different instrumentation (in the case of this study, different VERIS™ instruments and amplifiers).
In the LS instrumentation group, six cases (40%%) reported low disability, four cases (27 %) reported moderate disability, and five (33 %) reported severe disability.
In the IS instrumentation group, eight cases (80 %) reported low disability, two cases (20 %) reported moderate disability, and there were no reports on severe disability.
This might inform surgical decisions about spinal stabilisation of deformity correction, including the choice of instrumentation in individual cases.
