Most of these items such as instructor motivation, clear explanation by instructor, instructor knowledge of the subject matter, instructor commitment to teaching, management and control of class, and student motivation were rated between of great and very great importance by both groups of respondents, and the remainder rated as of least or moderate importance.
For each dependent variable, we conducted a GLMM with three independent variables: 1) instructor (Instructor 1, Instructor 2, or Instructor 3); 2) treatment (DO, WO or DW); and 3) the average multiple-choice score of students on all exams (three midterm exams and one final exam) to account for aptitude and individual effort of students.
