Funding for Stanford undergrads interested in undertaking research or pursuing an internship at a French institution (public and private universities, public technical universities, institutes of technologies and autonomous scientific higher education institutes, grandes écoles, government agencies and organizations, non-governmental organizations, public and private companies).
In his inaugural address at the 90th session of the Indian Science Congress, the Indian prime minister A.B. Vajpayee also appealed to the private sector to "invest more in indigenous R&D, in partnership with our S&T institutions, IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and universities, so that their products and services become globally competitive" [ 16].
Some 1,000 students from elite institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore will be given fellowships to stay on in doctoral programmes, Jaitley announced.

Several institutes of technology within the university offer two-year courses.
And global companies like Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, Microsoft and General Electric routinely hire graduates of the Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management.
The expertise of the country's seven Indian Institutes of Technology has also been harnessed to the task.
It established five Indian Institutes of Technology in the 1950s and 1960s, and 10 more in the past two decades.
In 2010, 105 students from the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology were chosen for the all-expenses-paid program.
