Degradation of DOC was coupled to iron reduction inside the plume, while denitrification could be an important redox process at the top fringe of the plume.
Distinct populations that were dominated by a small number of operational taxonomic units (OTUs) rapidly emerged inside the plume and at the plume fringes, partially replacing the original community.
As shown in Fig. 8, determination coefficients were high implying very homogeneous mixing inside the plume.
Hazen's team found that microbes inside the plume samples were packed more than twice as densely as microbes outside it.
Once the vapor condensation has started inside the plume, the vapor condensates begin to get deposited onto the hot target surface, as depicted in stage 3.
At a higher number of pulse interaction, the vapor distribution inside the plume rapidly loses its symmetry and becomes more and more turbulent [22].
This is the case for most of the sampling stations except the NE50 which was taken inside the plume boundary (Figs. 14, 15).
For this purpose, we carried out SO2 flux measurements, MultiGAS measurements, thermal imaging for plume vents and particle sampling inside the plume on November 20 and 21, 2014, and on June 2 , 2015 using a multirotor UAV.
However, the simultaneous calculated pCO2 and DO decrease (r2 = 0.561, p < 0.05, n = 14) and Chl a increases along the salinity gradient (Figure 9B, C), suggests the prominence of biological processes inside the plume.
MultiGAS (Shinohara 2005; Aiuppa et al. 2005a, b) or VERP (Kelly et al. 2013) that are equipped by electrochemical SO2 and H2S sensors is suitable systems to measure SO2/H2S ratio inside the plume.
