In a second longevity pathway that involves an environmental input, we found that RICT-1/mTORC2 acting in neurons is required for the TRPA-1/SGK-1 patoway to increase lifespan at low temperature (Fig. 6A).
Using CNA in IPA with the authors' microarray-based mRNA expression data as input, we found that SOST was predicted to be significantly inhibited with a Z-score of −1.96, with a network depth of 3, meaning that some paths from SOST to the dataset molecules involve three distinct 'hops' (with two intervening regulators), such as the path SOST Smad EGFR LCN2 as shown in Figure 7.
With these parameters and with positive external input we find that the fixed point of the system is given by A = − h N 2 ± N 2 h 2 4 + N 2 h.
When we investigated the expected error with temporally offset inputs, we found that activation of inputs in the preferred direction produced a large difference between the IV plot of combined excitatory and inhibitory activation and the expected arithmetic sum of the individual responses and, correspondingly, in RPC recordings (Fig. 7 B, top).
For multi-modal inputs, we found that larvae linearly combine olfactory and visual signals upstream of the decision to turn.
Reflecting the socio-cultural context of farming combined with the economic attributes of inputs, we find that female managers of individual cereal fields are less likely than their male counterparts to adopt yield-enhancing and soil-restoring strategies, although no differential is apparent for yield-protecting strategies.
By varying the inhibitory synaptic strengths and the afferent inputs, we find that the network model can oscillate over a range of relatively low frequencies, allow co-existence of multiple stable frequencies, and spike synchrony can spread from within a local neural subgroup to global.
After examining several combinations of input parameters, we found results to be relatively consistent across input parameters and selected results from c = 3 and m = 50 for further analysis of the irradiated data, where c indicates units of change and m, the number of candidate profiles.
In terms of functional input connectivity, we found a significant linear correlation for density and strength of excitatory inputs originating from LVa of the home column (density R = −0.74, p < 0.001; strength R = −0.58, p < 0.001) as well as for the strength of excitatory inputs originating from LIV of the neighboring column (R = 0.31, p = 0.038).
The DNN-based acoustic model uses 9 frames of 39D MFCC features as input, and we found that using longer context did not lead into better results.
We attempted to make asymmetric coupling with smaller interdigitating length at the input, but we found that both ports had nearly the same coupling, indicating the coupling is primarily due to fringing fields.
