In this paper the thermoeconomic analysis of ice (latent) thermal energy storage system for gas turbine inlet cooling application was performed.
This solution has already been used for medium/large GTs, but there are very limited inlet air cooling applications on MGTs and few experimental data are documented.
The inlet air cooling applications increase the thermal efficiency and the power generation rate roundly by 3.2 and 7.7%, respectively, while the payback period of the inlet-air cooled system is closely higher than the conventional case.
