The exercise therapist provides initial counselling on general aspects of physical activity (week 1), an introduction (theoretically and practically) into the exercise programme (week 1), a given number of additional personal consultations within the practice of the participant's GP (week 2, 4 and 6), and a given number of consultations on the telephone (week 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11).
