The reason these channels are so valuable and why they were chosen for terrestrial television in the first place is because their signals travel for kilometres, can carry a lot of information, are unaffected by weather and foliage, go through walls and penetrate all the nooks and crannies within the bowels of buildings.
We propose both burden and variance-component tests of rare variation that are applicable to affected sibships of arbitrary size and that do not require genotype information from unaffected siblings or independent controls.
There was no information from unaffected siblings of the probands for these UK families, which is necessary for the Transmit program to narrow down the range of the possible parental genotypes.
