Brightpearl was founded in 2007 with the aim of enabling business owners to focus on "running their businesses and not on integrating their information system", says Tanner.
In Kassala, the situation is similar: "working in six localities, each very far from one another, we need to strengthen our information system" says Sit Aldar.
"Our data is very specific to information we need to know," Shelley Bernstein, the museum's manager of information systems, said of the museum's own entries.
Hasam, a Tehran marketing student who had come to purchase books on management information systems, said Iran was opening up to the world.
"Some of them have bachelor's or master's but now they want to learn about information systems," said Jennifer Dudley, the continuing education director at Passaic County Community College in New Jersey.
Samuel Ingalls, the airport's assistant director for information systems, said that the revenue the airport could earn from user fees was not significant enough to justify charging and that the payment process itself dissuades time-pressed passengers from going online.
Gloria Metrick, a consultant who advises laboratories on how to manage their information systems, said her experience with travel agents, big and small, had been so inconsistent that she books her own travel over the Internet.
"You can send a more secure message through WhatsApp now than most government information systems," said Jon Alterman, a former state department policy planning staff official now senior vice-president at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
But systems that reduce errors in transmitting doctors' orders and warn of patients' problems like allergies are "the most rapidly growing segment of health care information systems," said Christopher Brinzey, a Wall Street analyst at Advest Inc.
"We are starting to identify signs given off by individuals that aren't easily tracked by humans," study co-author Dr. Tom Meservy, BYU professor of information systems, said in a written statement.
