We hypothesized that under conditions of cognitive challenge: (1) individuals with CFS who have auditory information processing difficulties will utilize frontal and parietal brain regions to a greater extent than Controls and (2) these differences will be maintained even when objective difficulties in this domain are controlled for.
Because TBI and PTSD often manifest themselves as information processing difficulties, solutions can be as simple as providing a quiet space to work or breaking down tasks into short-term goals.
Finally, cerebral volume changes in the frontal, temporal, and parietal regions in the first week after diagnosis were associated with lower attention and memory scores 6 months later, suggesting that functional information processing difficulties persist after resolution of tissue water increases in cerebral white matter.
Such answers could be evidence of on-line information processing, but given the difficulties these interviewees had providing any justification at all, it might be more likely that they made use of satisficing strategies, for instance heuristics, to provide an answer.

Congenital color deficiencies are related to poorer school performance, slowed CRT at traffic lights, difficulty with information processing from color video monitors, and increased difficulty with color-coded tasks (Cole and MacDonald 1988; Margrain et al. 1996; O'Brian et al. 2002; Steward and Cole 1989).
