Now we've been sent a copy by Michael Baron, indefatigable source of info about everything from scansion to nuclear waste disposal, and co-editor of the anthology – The Cockermouth Poets – with another local, Joan Hetherington.
This novel reeks not of lust but of the lamp, with many a discharge of nerdy info on everything from cyanide poisoning, Claudius' wife Messalina, vibrators, defibrillators, gangsta tattoos and Hitler's inflatable Aryan sex doll to fluffers and intercourse-induced embolisms: stuff most 10-year-olds know — or could Google.
The Society has spent the last few months engaging in an orgy of streamlining, reorganizing and polishing, and the result was unveiled today: a clean, clear, informative and well designed site; bright, navigable and chock-full of info on everything from membership, events and education initiatives to the menu at Covent Garden's marvellous Poetry Café.
Here we're going to see AR heads-up displays overlayed on top of existing real-world apps we already use habitually, whether it's bringing Amazon-like product info to everything you see around you, or Yelp, Zillow, OpenTable or NextDoor metadata for hyperlocal information.
