Although HIV-1 crosses PGEC as infectious particles (Figure 5B, bottom panel), the efficiency of transcytosis is extremely poor (less than 0.003% of the initial inoculum) (Figure 5B, top panel), suggesting that the genital epithelium serves as a major barrier against HIV-1.
There were no findings suggestive of infectious endocarditis (Figure 1).
By western blotting analysis, a 35 kDa protein corresponding to the CP of TuMV was detected in plants agro-infiltrated by the TuMV in vivo infectious clones (Figure 4A).
The consequence is a decline in epidemic curve by decreasing the proportion of infectious birds (Figure 1A).
Putative full length DENV 2 genomes also were most abundant in those fractions that contained most infectious virus (Figure 6 C).

All rRT-PCR-positive samples from these patients with the longest viral shedding durations (5645 and 5899) were culturable, meaning that these were infectious viruses (Figure 2 and Table S12).
Importantly, RVFV MP12 infection of human and Drosophila cells was productive, leading to the generation and release into the media of infectious progeny (Figure 1C, D) and spread of virus in both human and insect cell cultures (data not shown), demonstrating that we can use both mammalian and Drosophila cells to study the entire replication cycle of RVFV.
However, as the source of antigens for the in vitro priming of naïve T cells by MDDCs, AT-2 HIV-1 was slightly more efficient, 59% of all primed responses was achieved using AT-2 HIV-1 compared to 41% by its infectious counterpart (Figure 2D).
