Therefore, to take into account multiple hypothesis testing, statistical significance at the P < 0.05 level was estimated by applying a corrective factor to experimental P values such that statistical significance was called when P < 0.00069 (i.e., 0.05/72 where 72== 2 (cell lines) × 2 (index readouts) × 3 (siRNAs per gene) × 6 (genes).

To make things worse, the selective decoding model seems to have one more degree of freedom (Readout Index).
For the selective decoding model, we examined how performance changes as a function of the weighting applied to opposite cells (Readout Index, Figure 6B, 'Materials and methods').
